Eurostar Launches Paris-Amsterdam Train With Tickets From €19

European rail operator Eurostar has launched a new direct train service between Paris and Amsterdam, with fares starting at 19 euros, adding another cross-border option for travellers between two of the continent’s busiest capitals.

The service gives passengers a lower-carbon alternative to flying and expands capacity on a route that is used heavily by business travellers, city-break visitors and rail passengers connecting to other destinations in France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Eurostar said the new fares are available on selected tickets, with prices varying by demand and booking time. The direct service is intended to make rail travel more competitive on the Paris-Amsterdam corridor, where flight and rail journey times have long been closely watched by travellers choosing between speed, price and convenience.

The launch also strengthens Eurostar’s position on short-haul international routes in western Europe as airlines and rail operators compete for travellers seeking simpler city-centre to city-centre journeys. For passengers, the main benefit is a direct link that avoids changes and reduces the total time and hassle associated with cross-border trips.
