IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of Canary Riverside Plaza, Vignette Collection by IHG, marking the luxury brand’s first property in London and its debut in Canary Wharf.
The new hotel is scheduled to open in summer 2026 through a partnership with Yianis Group, further expanding IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio across the UK.
IHG Expands Luxury Presence In London
The upcoming Canary Riverside Plaza, Vignette Collection by IHG will feature 142 guestrooms and suites overlooking the River Thames and the London skyline.
The property will also include a restaurant and bar, meeting and event facilities for up to 200 guests, and access to a neighbouring health club and spa.
Located in Canary Wharf, one of London’s key financial districts, the hotel is expected to target both business and leisure travellers.
Canary Wharf Continues Hospitality Growth
IHG said the hotel benefits from strong transport connections across London and to major international gateways.
The development also reflects the ongoing transformation of Canary Wharf from a primarily financial centre into a broader lifestyle and hospitality destination.
Executives described London as a natural expansion market for the Vignette Collection brand, which focuses on luxury conversion properties that retain their independent identity while joining IHG’s global platform.
Vignette Collection Continues Rapid Expansion
Launched in 2021, Vignette Collection has become one of IHG’s fastest-growing luxury brands.
The concept allows hotel owners to preserve the individuality and story of their properties while benefiting from IHG’s global reservation systems, loyalty network and operational infrastructure.
The brand emphasises local identity, cultural connection and personalised guest experiences through concepts such as “Memorable Rituals” and “A Means for Good.”
Europe Pipeline Continues To Grow
Canary Riverside Plaza joins a growing pipeline of Vignette Collection properties across Europe.
The brand currently has six operating hotels in Europe and 17 more in development, including recently announced projects in Germany and Italy.
Globally, Vignette Collection has already surpassed the halfway point toward its long-term target of reaching 100 hotels within its first decade.
Conversions Drive IHG Growth Strategy
IHG said hotel conversions continue to play a major role in its expansion strategy.
According to the company, 74 percent of hotel openings and all signings across the UK and Ireland during the first quarter of 2026 came from conversion projects.
With the addition of Canary Riverside Plaza, IHG continues strengthening its position as the largest global hotel operator in the UK and Ireland, where it currently operates hundreds of hotels with additional projects in development.
