The low-cost airline has officially launched new flights between Berlin and Timișoara in western Romania, operating twice weekly every Thursday and Sunday.
The route is served using Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft with seating capacity ranging from 186 to 239 passengers.
Timișoara Becomes Latest New Destination
The new Berlin–Timișoara connection offers travellers direct access to one of Romania’s fastest-growing cultural and business centres.
The flight time between the two cities is approximately one hour and 45 minutes.
Timișoara becomes Wizz Air’s fourth new destination from Berlin during the 2026 summer season.
Additional Routes Added Across Eastern Europe
The airline has also recently launched new services from Berlin to Bratislava in Slovakia, Tuzla in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Cluj-Napoca in Romania.
Bratislava flights began on 16 March 2026 with four weekly services, while Tuzla and Cluj-Napoca launched at the end of March with three weekly flights each.
Frequencies Increase On Existing Routes
Alongside the new destinations, Wizz Air is expanding frequencies on several existing routes from Berlin.
Flights to Belgrade in Serbia will increase to five weekly services, while Chișinău in Moldova will gradually expand to daily operations.
The airline is also increasing frequencies to Tirana in Albania to as many as ten weekly flights.
Services to the Bulgarian coastal city of Varna will additionally grow during the peak summer season, including daily flights during July, August and September.
Wizz Air Strengthens Berlin Presence
In total, Wizz Air will connect Berlin Brandenburg Airport with twelve destinations across Southern and Eastern Europe during the 2026 summer timetable.
The airline said total seat capacity from Berlin will increase by approximately 90% compared with the previous summer season.
Eastern Europe Demand Continues Growing
The expansion reflects continued strong demand for affordable regional travel between Germany and Eastern Europe, driven by leisure tourism, visiting friends and relatives traffic and business connectivity.
Airlines across Europe continue increasing capacity on short-haul Mediterranean and Eastern European routes as competition intensifies within the low-cost aviation sector.
Berlin Brandenburg Airport has also continued attracting additional airline investment as carriers expand operations across Europe’s leisure and regional travel markets.
