Wizz Air has launched direct flights from Rzeszow-Jasionka Airport to Podgorica, opening a new regular route to the capital of Montenegro.
The service began on 1 June 2026 and adds another destination to the airport’s network. The route gives travellers in south-east Poland a new option for reaching the Balkans without a connecting flight.
Rzeszow-Jasionka Airport, officially named after the Ulmas Family, said the new link expands its scheduled network. Wizz Air is operating the route as a direct connection between Rzeszow and Podgorica.
The new service is part of the airport’s ongoing effort to broaden international connectivity. For passengers, it increases choice for leisure travel and short city breaks, while also strengthening links between Poland and Montenegro.
Podgorica is Montenegro’s main administrative and transport hub, and the addition of the route is likely to appeal to travellers looking for access to the country’s coast, mountain regions and neighbouring Balkan destinations. The airport did not provide further operational details in the source text.
The launch also underlines Wizz Air’s continued interest in Central and Eastern European point-to-point travel. The low-cost airline has added a number of routes across the region in recent years as demand for direct international flights has grown.
For Rzeszow-Jasionka Airport, the new connection brings another regular service to its departures board and gives it a stronger presence on the regional aviation map. For passengers, it offers a direct route that avoids the need to change planes in another hub.
The first flights mark the latest expansion for the airport’s network and the latest attempt by airlines to tap demand for simpler international journeys. With the new Podgorica service now in place, travellers from the region have one more direct option for summer and year-round trips.
