Palazzo Genazzini, a restored historic lakeside property in the centre of Bellagio on Lake Como, is set to open on 1 June following an extensive redevelopment project led by Francesco Pastorelli Architetti and Studio Reveria.
The new 35-room boutique hotel revives a landmark waterfront building dating back to 1721, combining preserved historic architecture with contemporary Italian design and panoramic lake views.
Historic Bellagio Landmark Returns To Hospitality
Named after the Genazzini family, which acquired the property in 1788, the palazzo was one of Bellagio’s earliest hospitality addresses and later became a recognised stop for Grand Tour travellers during the 19th century.
Following decades of inactivity, the building has now been carefully restored and reimagined while preserving key architectural features and its historic identity.
Original Architectural Features Preserved
Historic elements uncovered during the restoration, including frescoes, the original stone staircase, and the building’s traditional façade colour palette, have been integrated throughout the redesign.
Interior styling by Studio Reveria incorporates wood, marble, Moltrasio stone, silk-effect wall finishes, and parquet flooring inspired by historic 19th-century villas around Lake Como.
All furniture and interior pieces were custom designed and produced by Italian artisans specialising in stonework, textiles, carpentry, ceramics, lighting, and upholstery.
35 Rooms And Suites Across Four Floors
Palazzo Genazzini features 35 rooms and suites across four levels, including 20 suites overlooking Lake Como, Bellagio’s historic centre, and the surrounding mountains.
Accommodation categories include Superior Rooms, Prestige Rooms, Junior Suites, Suite Bellagio, Corner Suites, and the signature Suite Genazzini.
Several first-floor suites include landscaped terraces with lake views, while interconnecting accommodation options will also be available for families and groups.
Lakefront Dining And Rooftop Bar Planned
The property’s food and beverage offering includes Ristorante Genazzini 1788, a waterfront piazza bar, and a rooftop cocktail bar overlooking Lake Como.
Ristorante Genazzini 1788 will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner centred on Italian cuisine alongside selected international dishes.
The rooftop venue will focus on aperitivo and evening service with cocktails, seafood, and sharing plates.
All dining venues will be open to both hotel guests and non-residents.
Luxury Hospitality Growth Continues On Lake Como
The opening of Palazzo Genazzini reflects continued investment in Lake Como’s luxury hospitality sector as the region attracts growing international demand for high-end boutique accommodation and heritage-driven travel experiences.
Andrea Pavesio will serve as general manager of the property. His previous hospitality experience includes leadership roles at Borgo San Gregorio, Eden Reserve, and Casa Fantini Lake Time in Italy.
