W Hotels has officially opened W Sardinia – Poltu Quatu, marking its debut on the island and strengthening its footprint in Italy following launches in Rome and Florence. The new resort, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s global portfolio, brings the brand’s design-driven and culture-focused approach to one of the Mediterranean’s most exclusive destinations.
Set along Sardinia’s northeast coast between Porto Cervo and Baia Sardinia, the hotel overlooks the Marina dell’Orso in the village of Poltu Quatu, known as the “hidden port.” Built into a natural fjord, the property features whitewashed architecture cascading over granite cliffs, surrounded by lush Mediterranean landscape and clear coastal waters.

Designed by Meyer Davis, with architecture by DE.TALES, the hotel includes 157 guestrooms and suites conceived as immersive retreats that reflect the island’s natural textures and tones.
The design blends heritage influences with contemporary elements, incorporating materials such as Orosei marble, sculptural ceramics, and handcrafted artworks by local artists. Interiors draw inspiration from Sardinian mythology and marine landscapes, creating a layered aesthetic that balances tradition and modernity.
Two Penthouse Suites offer expansive terraces with private pools, alongside residential-style features including kitchens and entertainment spaces overlooking the coastline.
Dining Experiences Inspired By Local Culture
Dining at the resort is led by Chef Antonio Bitetto, with pastry concepts by Fabrizio Fiorani, focusing on Sardinian culinary traditions reinterpreted through a modern lens.
The signature restaurant, TANIT, is a marina-front venue serving seafood dishes inspired by the island’s coastal heritage. Other spaces, including the W Lounge and WET Deck, combine food, cocktails, and music, creating a social atmosphere that evolves from daytime relaxation to evening entertainment.
An interactive Dolce Room offers guests an immersive dessert experience centered around Fiorani’s signature creations.
