Lima To Welcome First Ritz-Carlton Hotel In 2028

Marriott International has announced two major luxury hotel conversions in Lima, Peru, bringing both The Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott brands into new locations within the city as part of a significant expansion of its South American luxury portfolio.

The projects will see the current JW Marriott Hotel Lima in Miraflores transformed into The Ritz-Carlton, Lima, while the former The Westin Lima Hotel & Convention Center in San Isidro will become the new JW Marriott Hotel Lima.

Both properties are expected to officially join their new brand portfolios in 2028.

The Ritz-Carlton Expands In South America

The Ritz-Carlton, Lima is set to become only the second Ritz-Carlton property in South America.

Marriott said the development reflects growing international demand for luxury travel experiences across the region, particularly in destinations combining culture, gastronomy and urban sophistication.

The Ritz-Carlton brand is globally recognised for its focus on personalised service, refined design and immersive destination experiences aimed at high-end travellers.

The new Lima property will join The Ritz-Carlton portfolio alongside hotels across destinations including Mexico, Costa Rica, Chile and the Caribbean.

New JW Marriott Planned For Business District

The future JW Marriott Hotel Lima will be located within Paseo Begonias in San Isidro, one of the city’s most important mixed-use business and commercial districts.

Marriott said the repositioned property will focus on wellness, sophisticated business travel and luxury hospitality experiences.

The development is also expected to strengthen Paseo Begonias as a major urban destination combining offices, retail and hospitality offerings.

Lima Continues Rising As Luxury Destination

Walter Regidor, Regional Vice President for Central and South America at Marriott International, said the dual conversion project marks an important moment for Lima’s hospitality sector.

He said the city continues attracting international travellers through its cultural richness, culinary reputation and growing global profile.

The company believes Lima is increasingly emerging as one of South America’s leading luxury urban destinations.

Marriott Strengthens Peru Luxury Portfolio

The new projects will further expand Marriott International’s luxury presence in Peru.

The company already operates several high-end properties across the country, including luxury hotels in Cusco and Paracas.

Marriott said the Lima conversions underline its long-term commitment to luxury hospitality investment and urban development across South America.
