LATAM Airlines has announced the cancellation of its Lima-Caracas flights, following the Venezuelan authorities’ decision to suspend air travel with Peru for a month.
“LATAM Airlines reports that the Venezuelan aviation authorities have decided to temporarily suspend all flights between Peru and Venezuela from July 31 to August 31 this year. Consequently, we are forced to temporarily suspend flights between Lima and Caracas,” the statement said.
Previously, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Iván Gil Pinto announced that the government had decided to sever diplomatic relations with Peru following remarks made by Peru’s Foreign Minister regarding elections in the Bolivarian Republic.
