Singapore Airlines is expanding its European network with more flights to Manchester, Milan, Munich and London Gatwick, and a new service to Madrid via Barcelona.

The first flight to the Spanish capital is scheduled for 26 October this year.

The move gives the carrier a larger footprint across key business and leisure markets in Europe, while also adding another long-haul option for travellers heading to Spain.

The airline said the changes form part of a broader schedule update for its Europe network. The added flights are expected to improve connectivity for passengers travelling between Singapore and major European cities, with Madrid becoming a new destination on the route map.

Singapore Airlines will increase frequencies on routes that already attract strong demand. Manchester, Milan, Munich and London Gatwick all gain additional services, signalling continued confidence in travel demand between Asia and Europe.

The new Madrid flight will operate via Barcelona, giving passengers another one-stop option between Singapore and Spain. For travellers, the change means more choice on departure times and improved links to onward connections in Europe.

Singapore Airlines has long been one of the busiest long-haul carriers in the region, and the latest schedule changes underline its focus on Europe. The expansion comes as airlines continue to adjust capacity across international markets to match demand.

For Spain, the new route adds another long-haul connection into Madrid, strengthening the city’s position as a major international gateway. For Singapore, it broadens access to a wider range of European destinations without requiring a separate non-stop service.

The airline has not said whether the changes will lead to further expansion in Europe later in the year, but the October launch places the Madrid service in place for the autumn and winter travel periods.
