Etihad Airways and Air Cambodia have launched a new codeshare partnership, expanding connectivity between the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
The agreement allows Etihad passengers to book seamless journeys to Siem Reap—gateway to the iconic Angkor Wat—via Phnom Penh on a single ticket.
Seamless Travel With Single Booking
Under the codeshare, passengers can check baggage through to their final destination and connect smoothly across both airlines’ networks.
The partnership simplifies access to one of Southeast Asia’s most sought-after cultural destinations, known for its historic temples, markets and Khmer cuisine.
Expanded Regional Connectivity
Beyond Cambodia, the agreement extends travel options across Vietnam through an existing interline arrangement.
Passengers can connect to destinations such as Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Phu Quoc, strengthening regional connectivity.
Air Cambodia customers will also gain access to Etihad’s route between Phnom Penh and Abu Dhabi, providing a direct link to a major global hub.
Strategic Growth In Emerging Markets
Etihad highlighted Cambodia as a growing market with increasing demand for inbound and outbound travel.
The partnership supports the airline’s broader strategy to expand its network through alliances, offering passengers more destinations without launching direct routes.
Strengthening Links Between Regions
The agreement enhances connectivity between Southeast Asia and the Middle East, supporting tourism, business travel and cultural exchange.
For Cambodia, improved access is expected to boost visitor numbers, particularly to Siem Reap and Angkor Wat, while offering local travellers more international travel options.
The partnership reflects a wider trend in aviation, where airlines leverage codeshare agreements to extend global reach and improve passenger convenience.
