Wroclaw airport has added nearly 300 new seats in its terminal and introduced a scheduled electric bus for travellers using the long-stay car park, just before the May holiday weekend.
The new seating area gives departing passengers more room while waiting for their flights. The seats also offer full access to power, allowing travellers to charge phones, laptops and other devices before boarding.
The airport has also started running an electric shuttle bus on a timetable for passengers parked in the long-term car park. The changes come as demand rises ahead of one of Poland’s busiest travel periods of the year.
The upgrades are designed to improve comfort and ease congestion in the terminal at a time when more people are expected to fly. Wroclaw airport said the extra seating should help spread passengers across the departure area and provide more options for those waiting near their gates.
The addition of charging points reflects the growing importance of digital devices in air travel. Many passengers now rely on phones for boarding passes, flight updates and entertainment, making access to power a practical feature in modern terminals.
The electric bus service is aimed at making access from the long-stay car park easier and more predictable. By operating according to a set schedule, the shuttle gives travellers a clearer transfer option between the parking area and the terminal.
The latest changes are part of a broader effort by airports to adjust facilities around peak travel dates. Holiday weekends often bring a surge in departures, longer queues and fuller waiting areas, prompting operators to add space or services where possible.
Wroclaw airport did not announce any wider expansion or permanent change to terminal capacity, but the extra seating and transport support should help passengers over the coming busy days. For many travellers, the most noticeable change will be a more comfortable wait before departure.
The move also highlights how airports are increasingly focusing on the passenger experience as well as flight operations. Small practical improvements, such as places to sit and easy links from parking, can have a large impact when terminals are under pressure.
For passengers travelling during the May holiday period, the airport’s new measures may reduce some of the usual stress. The additional seating and scheduled shuttle service are in place now, ahead of what is expected to be a busy start to the holiday season.
