China’s Tianjin Airlines has restarted its nonstop service linking the megacity of Chongqing with Moscow, marking a renewed air connection between one of China’s largest inland hubs and the Russian capital. The route is operated with an Airbus A330, offering a long-haul link that will run through February 2026.
Flights depart Chongqing every Tuesday at 10:55 Beijing time, arriving in Moscow at 14:55 Moscow time. The return service leaves Moscow the same day at 16:40, reaching Chongqing on Wednesday at 05:45 Beijing time. The airline plans to increase frequencies to two flights per week starting March next year as travel demand continues to grow.
Chongqing, located in central China, is one of the country’s four municipalities directly under central government administration, alongside Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai. It is the largest of the four by land area, covering 82,400 square kilometres, and is home to more than 31 million residents.
The resumed route strengthens connectivity between two major cities and reflects the gradual expansion of long-haul flights across Asia as travel networks continue to rebuild.
