LOT Polish Airlines is preparing another long-haul boost to its North American operations, announcing a new nonstop service between Warsaw and San Francisco. The route, set to launch on May 6, 2026, reflects the airline’s continued focus on the United States as one of its most important long-haul markets for both tourism and business travel.
The WAW-SFO connection will operate four times per week during the summer 2026 season. Flights to San Francisco will run as LO035 on Thursdays and Sundays at 11:15, and as LO037 on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 17:40. Return flights to Warsaw are scheduled on the same days, with LO036 departing at 15:50 and LO038 at 22:15. Travel time aboard the Boeing 787 Dreamliner will be around 11 hours and 30 minutes.
LOT highlights the strategic significance of its transatlantic expansion, noting that 800,000 passengers traveled between Poland and the United States on the carrier’s flights over the past 12 months. The new route links Warsaw with one of the world’s leading hubs for technology, innovation, and investment, offering an important gateway for business travelers heading to Silicon Valley.
San Francisco’s strong tourism appeal also plays a role in LOT’s planning. The city remains one of the most recognizable destinations in the United States, known for its steep hills, Victorian streetscapes, and vibrant cultural districts. The Golden Gate Bridge continues to be its defining landmark, drawing crowds in both bright California sunshine and the fog that often blankets the bay.
LOT executives say the new service will broaden travel opportunities for passengers on both sides of the Atlantic, strengthening the airline’s presence on the West Coast and enhancing connectivity between Central Europe and the United States. The carrier expects interest from business travelers, investors, and tourists seeking direct access to Northern California’s urban and natural attractions.
The debut of the Warsaw-San Francisco route adds to LOT’s growing transatlantic portfolio, underscoring the airline’s ambitions to deepen its North American footprint in the years ahead.
