andBeyond Launches New Under Canvas Safari Circuit in Botswana

Luxury safari company andBeyond has unveiled two new mobile camps — andBeyond Sandibe Under Canvas and andBeyond Nxabega Under Canvas — which, together with the newly refurbished andBeyond Chobe Under Canvas, create a seamless seven-night safari circuit through some of Botswana’s most iconic wilderness areas.

Designed to redefine the art of safari travel, the new Under Canvas concept offers guests a deeper connection to the landscapes of the Okavango Delta and Chobe River, balancing thoughtful luxury with raw immersion in nature.

“Our new Botswana Under Canvas camps celebrate safari in its purest form,” said Riaan Venter, Southern Africa Regional Manager at andBeyond. “They are intimate, low-impact, and deeply connected to place — Sandibe captures the energy of predator country, while Nxabega reflects the calm of the Delta’s waterways.”

Unlike traditional lodges, these mobile-style camps are described as “not a lodge, but an experience”, where comfort and wilderness merge effortlessly.

Sandibe Under Canvas sits in one of the most wildlife-rich corners of the Okavango Delta, known for year-round sightings of lion, leopard, cheetah, and wild dog. Guests can explore the terrain on game drives, walking safaris, or community visits.

Further west, Nxabega Under Canvas embodies the softer, more reflective side of the Delta. Surrounded by seasonal floodplains, guests can experience mokoro canoe excursions, catch-and-release fishing, and land-based safaris guided by expert naturalists.

Each camp hosts just six guests in three spacious tents, complete with super-king beds, double showers, running water, and Starlink Wi-Fi — a first for Botswana’s Under Canvas experiences. Entirely solar-powered, the design reflects the textures and tones of the Delta, with earthy greens, woven fibers, and brushed metal accents blending effortlessly into the landscape.

Sustainability remains at the heart of andBeyond’s mission. Shared logistics reduce environmental impact, while partnerships with local communities — including Shorobe, Sexaxa, Gogomoga, and Tsutsubega — support employment, education, and conservation through Wild Impact, andBeyond’s long-standing partner.

The Chobe and Okavango Delta: An Under Canvas Adventure itinerary starts from US$4,840 per person for seven nights, promising unparalleled seclusion, intimate adventure, and a refined connection to Botswana’s untamed beauty.
