Turkish Airlines to Boost Tokyo–Istanbul Flights to 10 Weekly Services from March 2026

Turkish Airlines has announced plans to increase flight frequencies between Tokyo/Narita and Istanbul beginning March 30, 2026, further strengthening air connectivity between Japan and Türkiye.

The national carrier currently operates one round-trip daily on the route. Starting next spring, it will add three additional weekly flights—on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays—bringing the total to 10 round-trips per week. The service will be operated using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

With this expansion, Turkish Airlines will operate 24 round-trips per week between Japan and Türkiye, including daily flights from Tokyo/Haneda and Osaka/Kansai to Istanbul.

Updated Schedule (Local Times)

  • TK051: Tokyo/Narita (10:25) → Istanbul (17:40)

  • TK301: Tokyo/Narita (21:25) → Istanbul (04:40+1) — Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays

  • TK300: Istanbul (02:05) → Tokyo/Narita (19:10) — Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays

  • TK050: Istanbul (15:50) → Tokyo/Narita (08:55+1)

The additional frequencies are designed to meet the rising demand for travel between Japan and Türkiye, which has seen strong recovery following the easing of travel restrictions and renewed tourism interest in both destinations.

The expansion also provides more convenient connection options via Istanbul Airport, one of the world’s busiest international hubs, linking Japan with destinations across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East through Turkish Airlines’ extensive global network.

As one of the few airlines operating flights from both Tokyo airports (Haneda and Narita), Turkish Airlines continues to strengthen its presence in Japan while catering to both business and leisure travelers.
