Shop, Fly, and Earn: United MileagePlus Members Now Get Miles and $0 Delivery Fees with Instacart

United Airlines and Instacart have launched a groundbreaking collaboration designed to make life easier — and more rewarding — for travelers. Through this new partnership, United MileagePlus members can now earn miles and enjoy $0 delivery fees on grocery orders placed before, during, or after their flights.

In a first for any airline, United is giving travelers the convenience of Instacart’s nationwide grocery delivery network, ensuring that returning home to an empty fridge or running last-minute errands before a trip becomes a thing of the past.

MileagePlus members can link their accounts at United.com/Instacart to start earning miles across a variety of Instacart offers. For new users, placing four grocery orders of $35 or more within eight weeks earns 5,000 miles. Existing Instacart users who connect their accounts and place an order of $35+ within 60 days will receive 500 miles, while those who later enroll in an annual Instacart+ membership can earn another 5,000 miles.

“This partnership solidifies Instacart’s position as a critical piece of the travel journey,” said Ryan Hamburger, Vice President of Commercial Partnerships for Instacart. “Whether shopping at home or while traveling, United MileagePlus members can now enjoy the convenience of Instacart while earning rewards.”

Richard Nunn, CEO of United MileagePlus, emphasized that the collaboration brings a new dimension to loyalty benefits:

“This gives our members peace of mind — knowing they can have groceries waiting when they arrive or add essentials at any stage of their journey, all while earning miles.”

The partnership’s $0 delivery fee benefit applies to orders of $10 or more and can be activated around flight dates, giving travelers seven days of complimentary delivery fees. Service fees apply, and Instacart+ membership terms vary by offer.

The initiative builds on United’s growing digital ecosystem, combining loyalty innovation with everyday convenience. Earlier this year, United and Chase also refreshed their co-branded credit card benefits to include Instacart perks for eligible cardmembers.

To make the experience seamless, Instacart is also working with Kinective Media℠ by United Airlines to deliver timely, personalized offers across channels like the United app, mobile boarding passes, and in-flight entertainment systems. Travelers can expect Instacart deals and messages to appear at key points throughout their journey — from check-in to arrival.

By merging air travel and online grocery shopping, United and Instacart are redefining what it means to earn rewards on the go. Travelers can now spend less time running errands and more time enjoying their destination — or relaxing at home after the trip.
