Brussels Airport has asked airlines to cancel half of their scheduled flights on Monday, September 22, following disruptions caused by a cyberattack. A spokesperson for the airport said that Collins Aerospace has not yet been able to release a software update required for the safe operation of the check-in systems.
Collins Aerospace provides airport services across Europe, including passenger self-service, baggage handling, and systems for monitoring and operational management. The delay in the software update has affected the airport’s ability to maintain normal flight operations, forcing significant schedule adjustments.
Authorities have not yet indicated when normal operations will resume, and passengers are advised to check with their airlines before traveling.
