Poland’s largest airport, Warsaw Chopin Airport, will temporarily halt all takeoffs and landings during nighttime hours on September 27 and 28.
According to a source, the airport will be closed from 19:00 to 05:00 UTC on Saturday night and from 21:30 to 03:30 UTC on Sunday night. No specific reasons for the closures were provided, but authorities have informed all airspace users of the temporary restrictions. Two other airports in Warsaw will continue operating on their regular schedules.
This is not the first temporary shutdown at Chopin Airport this month. On September 10, the airport closed for several hours after Russian drones entered Polish airspace, prompting the military to intercept multiple unidentified aerial objects.
Passengers are advised to check with airlines for updated schedules and plan accordingly.
