Lufthansa’s Miles & More and Marriott Bonvoy Announce Strategic Loyalty Partnership

Miles & More, the Lufthansa Group’s frequent flyer program, and Marriott Bonvoy, Marriott International’s global travel platform, have entered into a new strategic partnership designed to bring greater rewards and flexibility to their members. The collaboration takes effect immediately.

Under the agreement, Miles & More members can now earn up to 120 status points per year when staying at more than 30 Marriott Bonvoy hotel brands across 10,000 destinations worldwide. These points are in addition to those already earned through flights. With over 36 million members, the initiative will make it easier for frequent flyers to achieve or maintain their status, while also giving them access to exclusive Marriott Bonvoy benefits.

A new dimension in loyalty programs
The partnership includes automatic status matching for top-tier Miles & More members. Senators and HON Circle Members will receive Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status, which offers perks such as 25 percent more points on eligible hotel bookings, complimentary room upgrades, and late check-out where available.

“By offering our members privileged access to one of the world’s leading hotel loyalty programs, we are delivering a truly unique value proposition and strengthening customer loyalty for both partners,” said Dieter Vranckx, Chief Commercial Officer of the Lufthansa Group.

Satya Anand, President of Europe, Middle East & Africa at Marriott International, called the partnership “a fantastic alignment of two trusted names” that will give members “greater flexibility, recognition, and reward.”

How it works
Once members link their Miles & More and Marriott Bonvoy accounts online, they can earn 40 Miles & More status points per stay at participating Marriott properties, up to a maximum of 120 points annually. However, to qualify as a Frequent Traveller or Senator, at least 50 percent of status points must still come from Lufthansa Group flights, while HON Circle status remains exclusive to Business and First Class flights with Lufthansa Group airlines and partner carriers.

Strategic value for aviation and hospitality
The collaboration not only strengthens customer loyalty but also expands growth opportunities for both brands. Marriott Bonvoy’s extensive global footprint complements Lufthansa Group’s air travel network, creating a joint ecosystem that encourages members to travel, stay, and earn seamlessly across both platforms.
