Lufthansa‘s Boeing 787 Dreamliner suffered a serious ground incident at Frankfurt Airport after its nose landing gear unexpectedly collapsed shortly after arriving at the gate, leaving several airport workers injured and causing substantial damage to the aircraft.
The incident occurred at 12:45 p.m. (1045 GMT), and the jet was scheduled to depart for Los Angeles as ​flight LH450, ​Lufthansa said.
The incident involved one of the newest aircraft in operation and immediately raised questions about whether technical failure or operational factors contributed to the accident.
Airport operations continued while investigations began into the circumstances surrounding the collapse.
Ground Staff Injured During Airport Incident
According to airline representatives, only crew members and airport ground personnel were present during the incident.
Several employees reportedly suffered injuries and received medical treatment after the aircraft collapsed.
