China Southern Airlines has resumed direct flights between Moscow and Wuhan, the capital of China’s Hubei Province, according to Sheremetyevo and Tianhe international airports.
The route will be operated on Airbus A350-900 aircraft twice a week, on Sundays and Tuesdays. Flight time will be around 8 hours 15 minutes from Moscow to Wuhan and 9 hours 5 minutes on the return leg.
The Moscow–Wuhan air connection was first launched in July 2014, but operations were suspended in early 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The restart comes just days before a major change in travel rules: from September 15, 2025, Russian citizens will be able to enter China visa-free for up to 30 days with a regular passport. The policy covers tourism, business trips, family visits, and cultural exchanges.
With direct flights back in the skies and simplified entry rules, Wuhan once again becomes an accessible destination for Russian travelers, strengthening business and cultural ties between the two countries.
