United Airlines announced Thursday that it will restart flights to Tel Aviv from Chicago O’Hare and Washington Dulles airports for the first time since 2023. The move comes as U.S. carriers cautiously rebuild service to Israel.
United’s Chicago–Tel Aviv route will operate four times a week beginning November 1, while Washington–Tel Aviv flights will run three times weekly starting November 2. The airline already offers twice-daily service between Tel Aviv and Newark Liberty International Airport.
The announcement follows Delta Air Lines’ decision earlier this week to resume daily flights between Tel Aviv and New York’s JFK Airport using Airbus A330-900neo aircraft. Delta had suspended its Tel Aviv route in June.
American Airlines, however, has not flown to Tel Aviv since October 2023 and has yet to announce when it might return.
