Italian excellence in food and wine continues to shine on the global stage. Luca Martini, a Tuscan native, has been named Best AIS Sommelier of the World 2013, triumphing over an elite field of international competitors during the prestigious finals held at the Park Lane Sheraton Hotel in London.
Martini’s victory underscores not only his personal expertise and passion but also the strength of Italy’s wine culture. His deep knowledge, refined palate, and confident service earned him the top spot in a rigorous competition that tested technical skills, blind tasting, and tableside service.
Joining Martini on the podium were fellow Italian Dennis Metz, who took second place, and Jonathan Fillion of France, who placed third — a clear demonstration of European dominance in the sommelier profession.
