Wizz Air is launching direct flights to Chisinau from Budapest and Venice, announced the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Moldova, Andrei Spinu.

“Starting from March 31, 2024, our citizens will be able to travel on direct flights to Budapest and Venice on Thursdays and Sundays,” the minister wrote in a Telegram channel.

Earlier, Spinu stated that the Moldovan authorities are interested in attracting as many airlines as possible to Chisinau International Airport, which has seen a reduction in traffic amid the conflict in Ukraine. In February 2023, Moldova closed its airspace, later opening a narrow corridor for flights in the direction of Romania.
