UkSATSE Recommends Not to Fly Over the Black Sea

UkSATSE, the regulator in the field of civil aviation of Ukraine, recommends that airlines do not fly over the Black Sea from February 14 to February 19.

This recommendation does not generally block flights in the area of the Black and Azov Seas, the agency noted. The airspace over the territory of Ukraine also remains open and available for flight planning.

The recommendation was issued following Russia, which declared part of the airspace over the Black Sea a temporary danger zone due to military exercises planned on February 14-19 in the region.

The airspace over the territory of Ukraine is open, except for its parts, closed since 2014 over the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the East of the country.

No decisions were made to close the airspace.
