70 Flights Canceled in Tokyo Due to Heavy Snowfall

In the capital region of Japan, snowfall is expected to continue. Due to the inclement weather, several flights have been canceled at Tokyo’s Narita and Haneda airports, according to airline data. Major carriers in the country, including Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways, have canceled over 70 flights from the capital airports to various cities, including Osaka, Sapporo, Nagoya, and Fukuoka.

Additionally, due to the snowfall, road authorities have decided to close some sections of expressways in Tokyo and surrounding areas to traffic. According to the Japanese Road Information Center, certain entrances to expressways leading to the Japanese capital have already been closed, with others planned for closure shortly.

According to meteorologists’ forecasts, the capital region of Japan could experience up to 8 cm of snowfall in the next 24 hours.
