Air Arabia Launches 2 Daily Sharjah to Gatwick Flights

Air Arabia has launched a new double daily non-stop service connecting Sharjah International Airport with London Gatwick Airport, expanding one of its key long-haul routes from the United Arab Emirates. The inaugural flight took off last week, marking a new step in the carrier’s international growth.

The budget airline said the route strengthens air links between the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom and gives customers a more affordable and convenient option for travel. It also extends Air Arabia’s network from Sharjah, where the airline is based.

Air Arabia said the service is now operating twice a day, giving passengers more choice on one of the busiest travel corridors between the Gulf and the UK. The addition comes as the airline continues to grow its international schedule from Sharjah International Airport.

Air Arabia describes itself as the Middle East and North Africa’s first and largest budget carrier operator. The new London Gatwick service adds to a wider network that already reaches destinations across the region and beyond.

The route is likely to appeal to both business and leisure travellers, particularly those seeking lower-cost fares and direct access between the two cities. For Air Arabia, the launch reinforces Sharjah’s position as an expanding aviation hub in the Gulf.

The move also reflects continued demand for direct flights between the UAE and the UK. Air Arabia has positioned itself as a low-cost alternative in a market where travellers often compare price, schedule and convenience.

By offering two flights a day, the airline is increasing flexibility for passengers and adding capacity on a route with strong tourism and family travel demand. The service also supports onward connections through Sharjah for travellers heading to other destinations in the airline’s network.

Air Arabia has not said whether additional routes to the UK are planned, but the London Gatwick launch underlines its wider strategy of adding international services from the UAE. The airline continues to build on its home base in Sharjah as it expands its reach across key global markets.
