Emirates Unveils Next-Generation Airport Lounge Concept Worldwide

Emirates has unveiled its next-generation signature airport lounge concept, introducing a redesigned premium experience that will be rolled out across key destinations worldwide as part of a major investment in its ground services.

The new lounge design has debuted in Munich and Frankfurt, with additional openings planned in Manchester in July, Mauritius in August and Istanbul in October. Emirates said it will invest more than AED 50 million (approximately US$13.6 million) in each next-generation lounge.

New Standard for Premium Airport Lounges

Inspired by the airline’s latest cabin interiors and its flagship lounges in Dubai, the new concept introduces more than 50 design enhancements. The lounges feature contemporary architecture, marble and gold accents, herringbone flooring, integrated technology and the illuminated Emirates Ghaf Tree motif, reflecting the airline’s Emirati heritage.

The redesigned spaces have been created to accommodate passengers who want to work, dine, relax or socialise before their flights, with separate areas dedicated to each activity.

Adel Al Redha, Deputy President and Chief Operations Officer at Emirates, said the investment reflects the airline’s commitment to delivering a seamless premium travel experience from check-in through to boarding while setting a new benchmark for airport lounges worldwide.

Enhanced Dining and Beverage Experience

The new lounges place a strong emphasis on dining, featuring live cooking stations, locally inspired cuisine and international dishes prepared throughout the day. A dedicated “Made In” section highlights regional specialities at each destination.

Freshly baked pizzas, flatbreads and manakeesh will be prepared in dedicated bread ovens, while premium wines, Champagne, beers and spirits remain available alongside speciality coffees, artisan teas and locally inspired cocktails created by in-house baristas and mixologists.

Designed for Work and Relaxation

Business travellers will benefit from private work areas, communal workspaces, wireless charging, universal power outlets and Italian eco-leather seating. Emirates’ signature Rolex clocks displaying global time zones and curated artwork from local artists further enhance the environment.

For passengers seeking rest, the lounges include dedicated Quiet Zones equipped with comfortable seating, blankets, eye masks and earplugs. Additional facilities include private meeting rooms, breastfeeding rooms, upgraded shower suites featuring VOYA spa amenities, and separate prayer rooms with ablution facilities and Qibla direction.

Global Lounge Network Continues to Grow

The new concept will serve as the blueprint for future Emirates lounges across the airline’s worldwide network. Emirates currently operates 42 dedicated airport lounges, including eight at Dubai International Airport and 34 in major cities including London, Paris, New York, Singapore, Sydney, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Johannesburg and Zurich.

Complimentary lounge access is available for First Class and Business Class passengers, as well as eligible Emirates Skywards Platinum and Gold members. Paid access is also available for qualifying travellers.
