Air Canada has opened its newest Air Canada Café at Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport, introducing the airport’s first dedicated premium lounge experience and expanding the airline’s growing network of modern airport lounges across Canada.
The new facility offers eligible travelers a locally inspired space designed for relaxation, productivity and comfort before departure. Developed in partnership with Plaza Premium, the lounge combines contemporary amenities with food, art and design elements that celebrate the culture, heritage and character of Québec City.
The opening marks Air Canada’s seventh Air Canada Café location and forms part of the airline’s multi-year investment in modernizing and expanding its premium airport experience.
New Premium Lounge Brings Local Character To The Airport
The Air Canada Café at Québec City Airport features 97 seats across a 3,616-square-foot space designed to reflect the region’s unique identity. Inspired by Québec City’s renowned art de vivre, French heritage and surrounding natural landscapes, the lounge incorporates warm materials, refined finishes and locally influenced design elements.
The space also showcases works by acclaimed Canadian artists, including abstract artist Antonietta Grassi and visual artist Douglas Coupland. Their artwork serves as a focal point within the lounge, reinforcing the connection between travel, culture and local creativity.
According to Air Canada, the design follows its “Glowing Hearted” philosophy, which aims to create welcoming spaces that reflect the communities and destinations served by the airline.
Locally Inspired Food And Beverage Menu
A key feature of the new lounge is its focus on local food and beverage offerings. Travelers can enjoy a self-service dining area featuring hot and cold menu items created with ingredients sourced from Québec-based suppliers and Indigenous partners.
The menu includes signature breakfast pancakes served with maple butter, fleur de sel and a pumpkin seed spread sourced from the Mi’gmaq Nation of Gespeg Indigenous community. Guests can also build their own power bowls using fresh local ingredients or enjoy a curated selection of regional cheeses and artisanal jams.
The café caters to a variety of dietary preferences with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options available. Beverage offerings include premium coffee, handcrafted cocktails and locally brewed beers from Québec producers.
Designed For Comfort And Productivity
In addition to its culinary offering, the lounge has been designed to meet the needs of modern travelers. Dedicated productivity-style seating areas provide comfortable spaces for working, making calls or preparing for meetings before departure.
Every seat includes access to power outlets and USB-C charging ports capable of supporting laptops and personal devices, helping travelers stay connected throughout their airport experience.
Who Can Access The Air Canada Café?
Access is available to eligible customers traveling on Air Canada and Star Alliance flights departing from Québec City. This includes Business Class passengers, Aeroplan Elite members with 50K status and above, Star Alliance Gold members and eligible Aeroplan premium co-brand cardholders.
The new facility provides premium travelers departing Québec City with a dedicated lounge option for the first time, enhancing the overall airport experience at one of eastern Canada’s key gateways.
Part Of A Wider Lounge Expansion Strategy
The Québec City opening is the latest step in Air Canada’s broader strategy to enhance premium travel experiences across its network. The airline has invested heavily in lounge upgrades and new facilities in recent years, adding more than 500 lounge seats globally during the past year alone.
Recent projects have included a new Air Canada Café and a refreshed domestic Maple Leaf Lounge at Montréal-Trudeau Airport, featuring upgraded seating, improved design and enhanced charging facilities.
With the addition of Québec City, Air Canada continues to expand a lounge network focused on comfort, convenience and local identity, offering travelers a more personalized and premium airport experience across Canada and beyond.
