LATAM Airlines Brazil has unveiled its first Embraer E195-E2 in company colours, marking a new stage in the carrier’s fleet plans. The aircraft was presented on Tuesday, 9 June, in Embraer’s hangar in Sao Jose dos Campos.
The reveal gives the airline its first look at the jet in full LATAM livery and signals the start of a wider rollout of the model. The E195-E2 is Embraer’s largest commercial aircraft and is designed for short and medium-haul routes.
The move comes as LATAM Brazil looks to expand and modernise its domestic network. The airline has not yet detailed when the aircraft will enter service, but the presentation confirms the partnership between the Brazilian carrier and the country’s biggest aircraft maker.
LATAM said the aircraft was shown to mark the first appearance of the E195-E2Â in its colours. The unveiling took place inside Embraer’s main industrial base, underlining the importance of the deal for Brazil’s aviation sector.
The E195-E2 is part of Embraer’s next-generation E-Jet family. It is built to carry more passengers while using less fuel than older models, making it attractive to airlines seeking lower operating costs on regional routes.
For LATAM, the aircraft adds a new option for markets where larger jets can be harder to fill. That can help the airline increase frequency on busy routes and open thinner destinations that need smaller aircraft.
The first painted jet also provides a visual signal that LATAM is moving closer to operating the type. Fleet introductions like this often come months before entry into service, as airlines complete certification, pilot training and route planning.
Brazil’s aviation market has been under pressure from high costs and strong demand for domestic travel. New aircraft deliveries can help carriers update older fleets and improve efficiency, especially on routes where flexibility matters.
Embraer is one of the country’s most important industrial exporters, and the E2 family is a key product for the manufacturer. A high-profile customer such as LATAM gives the programme added visibility at a time when regional aviation remains competitive.
The airline has not announced the number of E195-E2 aircraft it expects to receive, nor the routes they will fly. But the unveiling suggests the first deliveries are approaching and that the jet is likely to become part of LATAM Brazil’s network plans.
