Europe continues to dominate as the preferred summer playground for private jet travelers from the Gulf, but new data suggests that travel patterns are shifting as affluent visitors increasingly prioritize flexibility, personalization and multi-destination itineraries.
According to business aviation intelligence provider WingX, private jet activity between GCC countries and major European destinations evolved significantly between summer 2024 and summer 2025, highlighting changing preferences among high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs and corporate travelers.
London And The French Riviera Remain Luxury Favorites
London retained its position as the leading European destination among Gulf private jet travelers, recording a modest 3% increase in flight activity year-on-year.
The British capital continues to attract visitors seeking a combination of business opportunities, luxury shopping, prestigious educational institutions and a packed calendar of summer events.
Meanwhile, Nice recorded a strong 17% increase in private aviation traffic, reaffirming the enduring appeal of the French Riviera.
For many travelers from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman, Nice serves as the gateway to destinations such as Monaco, Cannes and Saint-Tropez, where private villas, superyachts and exclusive events define the summer season.
Athens And Ibiza Record Strongest Growth
Among the destinations analyzed, Athens emerged as one of the fastest-growing markets, with private jet traffic rising 29% compared with the previous summer.
The Greek capital’s popularity reflects growing demand for destinations that combine luxury experiences with flexibility. Travelers can easily transition from city stays to yacht charters and island-hopping adventures across the Aegean Sea.
Ibiza delivered the strongest growth of all destinations reviewed, recording a remarkable 53% increase in flight activity.
While long associated with nightlife, the Balearic island has evolved into a broader luxury lifestyle destination, attracting families, entrepreneurs and wellness-focused travelers seeking private estates, beach clubs, retreats and exclusive hospitality experiences.
Travelers Embrace More Flexible Itineraries
The data suggests that many Gulf travelers are moving away from traditional single-destination summer holidays in favor of dynamic, multi-stop journeys.
Rather than committing to one location months in advance, travelers are increasingly building itineraries that allow them to move between several European hotspots based on events, yacht schedules, business commitments and personal recommendations.
Private aviation companies report growing demand for last-minute itinerary changes, extended stays and spontaneous additions to travel plans throughout the summer season.
According to Claudia Krajhanzl, Vice President Passenger IMEA at Chapman Freeborn, flexibility has become one of the most important factors shaping luxury travel decisions.
“We are seeing growing demand for personalised itineraries, where clients want the flexibility to combine several destinations, adapt plans at short notice and travel with complete privacy and comfort,” she said.
Established Destinations Still Hold Strong Appeal
While Athens and Ibiza enjoyed significant growth, traditional luxury destinations remain firmly embedded within European summer travel plans.
Mykonos, Mallorca and Geneva experienced softer demand during the period reviewed, with traffic declining by 7%, 18% and 10% respectively. However, industry experts view this as a reflection of travelers seeking greater variety rather than a decline in the attractiveness of these established destinations.
London, Nice and the wider French Riviera are expected to remain core markets for Gulf travelers thanks to their mature luxury infrastructure, major annual events and longstanding connections with GCC visitors.
What To Expect For Summer 2026
Industry forecasts suggest demand for private jet travel from the Gulf to Europe will remain strong throughout summer 2026.
Greece is expected to continue benefiting from demand for yacht-focused itineraries, island escapes and cultural experiences, while Ibiza’s transformation into a broader luxury lifestyle destination is likely to support further growth.
As travelers increasingly prioritize privacy, flexibility and tailored experiences, destinations that combine exclusivity, accessibility and diverse lifestyle offerings are expected to capture an even greater share of Europe’s luxury travel market.
