Istanbul Airport Opens World’s Largest Independent Private Terminal

Istanbul Airport (IGA) has officially opened Jetex IGA C-VIP, described as the world’s largest fully independent private terminal operating by appointment only. The facility was developed in partnership with global private aviation operator Jetex and is located away from the airport’s main passenger terminal.

A New Luxury Hub For Private Aviation

The three-storey terminal covers 5,000 square metres and is designed to accommodate between 350 and 400 passengers per day. Airport officials say the project is aimed at travellers seeking greater privacy, comfort and personalised service throughout their journey.

Jetex IGA C-VIP features private suites equipped with lounge areas, dining spaces and bathrooms, alongside premium lounges offering concierge services. Guests also benefit from fast-track passport and customs procedures through dedicated checkpoints.

Design Inspired By Istanbul

According to IGA representatives, the architecture of the terminal was inspired by the Istanbul flower known as “Nazende Cicegi”, translated as the “graceful flower”. Natural stone and wood materials were used throughout the interiors to create the atmosphere of an exclusive private club.

The airport says the terminal is intended to provide more than just a transit experience, offering highly personalised service before, after and between flights.

Istanbul Targets Growth In Private Aviation

Speaking during the opening ceremony, IGA Chairman Cemal Kalyoncu said passenger traffic at Istanbul Airport is expected to rise to 120 million travellers in the future. He also confirmed that a fourth runway is scheduled to open during the second half of the year.

With the launch of Jetex IGA C-VIP, Istanbul Airport aims to strengthen its position as one of the world’s leading hubs for private aviation and premium travel services.

Jetex Continues Global Expansion

Jetex is headquartered in Dubai and operates a network of 40 private terminals worldwide, including locations in Paris, London, Madrid, Milan, Abu Dhabi, Marrakech and Singapore.

The opening of the new terminal marks one of the most significant recent developments in the luxury aviation sector and reflects growing global demand for exclusive travel experiences.
