Icelandair Launches Gdansk Keflavik Route from 18 September 2026

Icelandair will start flying from Gdansk to Keflavik on 18 September 2026, making Gdansk the first airport in Poland to be served by the Icelandic carrier. The new route gives passengers a direct link to Iceland and onward connections to North America.

The announcement was made at Gdansk Airport during a meeting promoting the new service. Icelandair says the route will strengthen travel options for passengers looking to reach Iceland and the United States through its network.

The airline is known for offering connections from Iceland to destinations across North America. For travellers in northern Poland, the new service adds another option for transatlantic journeys without needing to start from a larger hub in another country.

Gdansk Airport has been expanding its international network, and the Icelandair launch adds a new carrier to its list of scheduled services. The airport said the new connection is designed to appeal to both leisure and connecting passengers.

The route is also notable because Gdansk becomes the first Polish airport from which Icelandair will operate. That gives the airline a new presence in the Polish market and creates a direct air bridge between the Baltic coast and Iceland.

Icelandair’s wider network is a key part of the appeal. The carrier offers onward flights from Keflavik to cities in the United States and Canada, which can make the route attractive to travellers planning longer multi-stop trips.

The new service is expected to support both outbound tourism from Poland and inbound travel to the Gdansk region. Iceland has become a popular destination for short breaks, while North American connections are often used by passengers seeking efficient transfer options.

For airport planners and local tourism officials, the new route adds another layer to Gdansk’s international profile. It also reflects continuing demand for direct flights that connect regional airports with major overseas markets.

Further details on schedules and ticket sales were not included in the announcement. But the launch date gives passengers a clear timeline for when the new service becomes available.
