Uzbekistan Airways is expanding its international network through a new strategic codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways, strengthening air connectivity between Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates.
The partnership introduces Abu Dhabi as a new destination within the Uzbekistan Airways network and marks a significant step in the airline’s expansion across the Middle East.
According to the airline, ticket sales for flights operating on the Tashkent – Abu Dhabi – Tashkent route under Uzbekistan Airways’ HY flight code will begin on 25 May 2026.
The first joint flights under the agreement are scheduled to launch from 9 August 2026.
Codeshare Agreement Officially Takes Effect
The partnership officially entered into force on 15 May 2026.
Uzbekistan Airways said the agreement will allow passengers to purchase a single ticket directly through the national carrier for travel between Tashkent and Abu Dhabi.
The collaboration is also expected to strengthen Uzbekistan Airways’ presence in the Middle Eastern aviation market.
Etihad Passengers Gain Access To Regional Uzbekistan Network
As part of the partnership, passengers travelling with Etihad Airways will gain easier access to eight domestic destinations across Uzbekistan via Tashkent.
These destinations include Samarkand, Bukhara, Urgench, Nukus, Termez, Fergana, Namangan and Andijan.
The agreement is designed to improve onward connectivity for international travellers visiting Uzbekistan while also increasing transfer traffic through Tashkent.
Loyalty Programmes To Be Integrated
The cooperation will also include integration between the UzAirPlus and Etihad Guest loyalty programmes.
This will allow passengers travelling with either airline to benefit from expanded mileage earning and redemption opportunities.
Codeshare agreements typically allow airlines to broaden their global reach without directly operating additional aircraft or routes.
Bookings Open From Late May
From 25 May 2026, tickets for the new services will be available through the Uzbekistan Airways official website, mobile application, airline sales offices and authorised travel agents.
The partnership reflects growing aviation ties between Central Asia and the Gulf region as airlines continue expanding international connectivity and transit opportunities.
