Etihad Airways has added four new destinations to its global network within just three days, marking another milestone in what has already been a record year for the airline’s growth.
The new routes — to Tunis, Hanoi, Chiang Mai, and Hong Kong — further solidify Abu Dhabi’s position as a major international hub, connecting travellers across Africa and Asia while supporting inbound tourism, trade, and the UAE’s broader aviation sector.
Together, the new services contribute to nearly 45% of the UAE’s total aviation growth this year, adding thousands of new seats to and from Abu Dhabi and giving travellers more options to explore the city’s cultural landmarks, beaches, and luxury resorts.
New routes from Abu Dhabi:
• Tunis – Three weekly flights from 1 November, expanding Etihad’s presence in North Africa and catering to rising demand for travel between the UAE and Tunisia.
• Hanoi – Six weekly flights from 2 November, marking the first direct connection between Abu Dhabi and Vietnam’s capital.
• Chiang Mai – Four weekly flights from 3 November, opening Northern Thailand to travellers from the Middle East and Europe via Abu Dhabi.
• Hong Kong – Five weekly flights from 3 November, reconnecting Abu Dhabi with one of Asia’s key business and leisure gateways, alongside the relaunch of Etihad’s codeshare with Hong Kong Airlines for broader connectivity across Asia.
Etihad Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves said the airline’s expanding network reflects a commitment to connecting cultures and driving tourism.
“Each of these destinations adds its own character to our network – from Tunis’s heritage to Hanoi’s vibrancy, Chiang Mai’s charm and Hong Kong’s global energy,” he said. “Together, they expand options for our guests while bringing more visitors to discover Abu Dhabi – one of the world’s most exciting cities.”
The airline’s expansion underscores Abu Dhabi’s ambition to become a leading global gateway, making travel between Asia, Africa, and the Middle East more seamless than ever.
