Alaska Airlines Adds New California Routes From Santa Rosa And Long Beach

Alaska Airlines is expanding its California network with four new nonstop routes from Santa Rosa and Long Beach, adding seasonal ski destination services and restoring flights to Long Beach after a decade-long absence.

The airline announced three new routes from Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport in Santa Rosa alongside the return of nonstop Seattle service from Long Beach Municipal Airport.

New Santa Rosa Routes Launch For Winter 2026

Beginning on 1 November 2026, Alaska Airlines will introduce new nonstop seasonal flights from Santa Rosa to Boise, Phoenix and Salt Lake City using Embraer E175 aircraft.

The new Boise and Salt Lake City services will provide direct access to major ski destinations during the winter travel season, while Phoenix expands Alaska’s growing route network from Northern California wine country.

The airline said the additions will increase the total number of nonstop destinations served from Santa Rosa to 12.

The Santa Rosa–Boise route will operate up to daily through 19 April 2027, while flights to Phoenix and Salt Lake City will continue through 21 April 2027.

Wine Country Travel Remains A Key Focus

Alaska Airlines was the first carrier to introduce commercial service to Santa Rosa nearly 20 years ago and remains the airport’s largest airline operator.

The company also highlighted its Wine Flies Free programme, which allows Atmos Rewards members to check an entire case of wine containing up to 12 bottles free of charge when travelling from Santa Rosa.

The initiative, launched in 2007, is aimed at supporting tourism across Northern California wine country.

Seattle Flights Return To Long Beach

Alaska Airlines will also resume service to Long Beach Municipal Airport on 8 September 2026 with twice-daily year-round flights to Seattle operated by Boeing 737 aircraft.

The route marks Alaska’s return to Long Beach after a 10-year hiatus and strengthens the airline’s position across the Los Angeles Basin.

With the addition of Long Beach, Alaska said it will become the only airline operating flights between Seattle and all five major airports in the Los Angeles region.

Hawaiian Airlines, which is part of the Alaska Air Group, already operates flights from Long Beach to Honolulu and Kahului on Maui.

Starlink Wi-Fi Expansion Continues

Alaska Airlines also said the new Santa Rosa routes will feature Starlink Wi-Fi connectivity across its regional fleet, allowing passengers to access gate-to-gate internet service for streaming and browsing.

The airline stated it is currently the only carrier in the world with its full regional fleet equipped with Starlink Wi-Fi technology.

Starlink service is expected to expand to Alaska’s mainline fleet throughout 2026, including aircraft serving Long Beach.
