Dubai has reopened Khor Al Mamzar Beach following a major regeneration project designed to transform the waterfront into a modern 24-hour leisure and tourism destination.
The upgraded beachfront now includes what officials describe as the region’s first floating walkway alongside expanded recreational and sports facilities.
Beachfront Expansion More Than Doubles Shoreline
The redevelopment has more than doubled the length of the beach’s swimming shoreline to 3.6 kilometres.
Khor Al Mamzar Beach now stretches across approximately 182,000 square metres, more than twice its previous size.
The project also introduced more than 5.5 kilometres of running, walking and cycling tracks aimed at encouraging outdoor activity and year-round public use.
A dedicated 300-metre night beach has additionally been created, supporting Dubai’s growing focus on extended nighttime tourism and leisure experiences.
New Sports And Leisure Facilities Added
The revamped destination includes a wide range of new attractions and recreational facilities.
Visitors now have access to an outdoor gym, beach volleyball courts, padel courts and expanded water sports areas.
The floating walkway is among the project’s most distinctive features and is expected to become a major attraction along the coastline.
Dubai authorities said the redevelopment was designed to create a more active and accessible public beach environment for both residents and international visitors.
Large-Scale Coastal Engineering Completed
As part of the regeneration works, approximately 350,000 cubic metres of sand were used for land reclamation and shoreline expansion.
Officials said the engineering works were carried out following environmental and coastal resilience studies aimed at strengthening long-term shoreline protection.
The redevelopment forms the first completed phase of the broader Dh500 million Al Mamzar Beaches masterplan.
Dubai Targets Seven Million Annual Visitors
The wider Al Mamzar Beaches initiative also includes the redevelopment of Al Mamzar Corniche and is intended to significantly expand Dubai’s public beach infrastructure.
Once fully completed, the project is expected to accommodate up to seven million visitors annually.
The redevelopment supports Dubai’s broader strategy to strengthen its tourism offering through upgraded waterfront destinations, outdoor lifestyle attractions and public leisure infrastructure.
