Air Serbia has launched a new direct route between Belgrade and Santorini, expanding its summer network to one of the Mediterranean’s most sought-after destinations.
The seasonal service will operate twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays, throughout the summer period.
Strengthening Mediterranean Connectivity
The launch further reinforces Air Serbia’s presence in Greece, bringing its total number of destinations in the country to eight.
Alongside Santorini, the airline serves Athens, Thessaloniki, Rhodes, Corfu, Chania, Heraklion and Mykonos.
The move positions the airline as a key regional connector to popular leisure destinations across the Mediterranean.
Responding To Strong Travel Demand
Air Serbia said the new route responds to growing passenger demand for direct access to Greece’s most iconic islands.
Santorini, known for its whitewashed architecture, volcanic landscapes and renowned sunsets, continues to attract millions of international visitors each year.
Boost For Tourism And Regional Travel
The introduction of direct flights is expected to strengthen tourism flows between Serbia and Greece, offering greater convenience for travellers seeking summer leisure destinations.
The inaugural flight was welcomed at Santorini Airport by Serbia’s ambassador to Greece, highlighting the route’s significance for bilateral travel ties.
Strategic Network Expansion
The addition of Santorini reflects Air Serbia’s broader strategy to expand its seasonal leisure network and capitalise on strong summer travel demand.
By increasing connectivity to high-profile destinations, the airline aims to enhance its competitive position and offer passengers more direct travel options across Europe.
