Gulf Air has officially launched a new route connecting Manama with Moscow, marking its debut at Sheremetyevo International Airport.
The inaugural flight was welcomed on May 1 with a formal ceremony attended by representatives of the Bahraini embassy in Russia, airport executives, airline leadership and partner organizations, underscoring the strategic importance of the new connection.
The route links Bahrain’s capital with one of Russia’s крупнейших авиационных хабов, expanding travel options between the two regions. Initially, flights will operate four times per week, with plans to increase frequency to daily service – seven flights per week – starting in June.
Airport officials said the new service strengthens Sheremetyevo’s international network and provides passengers with greater flexibility when traveling between Russia and the Middle East. The route also positions Manama as a convenient transit hub for onward connections across Gulf Air’s broader network.
Flights are operated from Terminal C, Sheremetyevo’s primary international passenger terminal, which handles a large share of the airport’s long-haul traffic.
The launch reflects growing demand for connectivity between Russia and Gulf destinations, as airlines continue to expand routes to capture both leisure and business travel flows.
