IHG Launches Noted Collection After Surpassing 1 Million Rooms Worldwide

After surpassing the milestone of 1 million hotel rooms globally in 2025, IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the launch of a new premium brand – Noted Collection.

According to CEO Elie Maalouf, the brand will sit slightly above Ruby Hotels, recently acquired by IHG, and just below Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in positioning. The company expects Noted Collection to grow to around 150 properties within the next decade.

Record growth in 2025

In 2025 alone, IHG opened 443 hotels, adding more than 65,000 rooms – a 10.3 percent increase compared to the previous year. By year-end, the group’s global portfolio had reached approximately 1.03 million rooms across 6,963 hotels.

IHG brands also debuted in 32 countries during the year, underlining the operator’s continued international expansion.

The company’s development pipeline remains substantial, with 2,292 hotels representing around 340,000 rooms – equivalent to roughly 33 percent of its current portfolio.

Regional performance diverges

Performance trends varied significantly by region. In Greater China, IHG recorded its weakest results. Revenue per available room declined by 1.6 percent, while average daily rate fell 2.4 percent, despite a modest occupancy increase of 0.5 percent.

In contrast, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa delivered stronger growth. RevPAR rose 4.6 percent for the full year and 7.1 percent in the fourth quarter alone. Occupancy increased by 1.6 percent year-on-year, while ADR climbed 2.4 percent.

Across the Americas, performance was more subdued. ADR increased just 0.5 percent, RevPAR edged up 0.3 percent and occupancy slipped 0.1 percent.

Expansion priorities

Geographically, IHG’s development focus is distributed across major growth markets. The pipeline includes:

  • 117,300 additional rooms planned in Greater China
  • 116,900 rooms across the Middle East and Africa
  • 105,400 rooms in the Americas

With Noted Collection positioned to strengthen its premium offering, IHG appears focused on balancing rapid expansion with brand segmentation, refining its portfolio structure as it moves beyond the 1 million-room threshold.
