Alicante Airport Launches Record-Breaking Direct Flight to Yerevan

Alicante–Elche Airport has announced a new direct route to Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, marking the longest flight ever operated from the airport. The distance surpasses the previous record-holder, the route to Reykjavík.

The service will be operated by FlyOne, which already serves Alicante with a successful connection to Chișinău. Flights to Yerevan will begin on 4 June, operating twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays, with aircraft offering 180 seats.

Covering a distance of more than 3,800 kilometres, the flight time is expected to be around 4 hours and 40 minutes outbound and approximately 5 hours and 30 minutes on the return leg, depending on wind conditions.

This will be the first-ever direct connection between Alicante and the Caucasus region, significantly expanding the airport’s route network and strengthening its long-haul short-haul international offering. The new route is expected to appeal to both leisure travellers and passengers visiting friends and relatives, as well as those travelling for business.

The launch of the Yerevan service further reinforces Alicante–Elche Airport’s position as one of Spain’s most internationally connected regional airports, continuing its steady expansion into new and emerging markets.
