Apex Hospitality Group Unveils the Monogram Collective

Apex Hospitality Group has introduced the Monogram Collective, a new brand designed to redefine contemporary countryside luxury while preserving the heritage of three landmark properties. The new collective brings together Pine Trees in Perthshire, Meldrum House in Aberdeenshire and The Vineyard in Newbury – each embarking on its own transformation timeline that stretches into 2026.

Pine Trees is the first to showcase the scale of the investment. The 32-bedroom hotel recently completed a £6m renovation following its £3m acquisition by Apex Hotels in July 2023. A woodland wellness experience is planned for spring 2026, positioning the estate as a retreat-focused anchor within the portfolio.

The Vineyard, long recognised as an iconic culinary destination and country house hotel, will close temporarily in January 2026 for a full redesign. Its late summer 2026 reopening will mark the start of what the group calls a new chapter built around moments of togetherness, adding deeper narrative coherence to its established gastronomic legacy.

Meldrum House, acquired in April 2024, is entering early design development as part of a phased renovation programme. While the scope remains under refinement, the property is expected to embody the Collective’s emphasis on heritage-led reinvention.

Leadership for the new brand is drawn from across the luxury hospitality sector. Former Apex Hotels chief executive Angela Vickers becomes managing director and will guide Monogram’s evolution. She is joined by Chris Ward as head of commercial, whose background includes senior roles at Chewton Glen, Limewood, Cliveden House and Farncombe Estate, and by head of operations Michael Musgrave, previously with The Doyle Collection, Hotel du Vin, IHG and Myhotels.

Vickers said the ethos behind Monogram is rooted in individuality rather than scale. She described the group’s approach as one that respects provenance while reshaping each property for today’s guest expectations, focusing on modernity expressed through intuitive and meaningful experiences.

Apex Hotels founder Norman Springford framed the launch as the natural progression of the group’s long-held values of quality and distinctiveness, adding that Monogram represents an exciting next step shaped by a highly experienced team.

Interior design direction for the Collective will be led by ISA Architects, the Edinburgh-based studio headed by Ian Springford. The firm will support the evolution of each hotel’s identity as renovations progress, bringing insights from its work with leading hospitality brands across the UK.

The launch of the Monogram Collective signals a quiet but confident shift in the luxury countryside market, blending legacy, design ambition and operational expertise as each estate moves toward its own carefully sequenced transformation.
