British Airways is expanding its short-haul network once again, announcing two new routes for 2026 that bring fresh Mediterranean and island escapes to its growing schedule. Tivat in Montenegro and Guernsey in the Channel Islands will join the airline’s route map next year, pushing the total number of Heathrow short-haul destinations to nearly one hundred.
Seasonal flights to Tivat will begin on 14 May 2026 from London Heathrow Terminal 3, running three times weekly during the summer. Guernsey, meanwhile, will join the network on 19 April 2026 with a year-round daily service from Terminal 5, becoming the only direct link between Heathrow and the Channel Islands.
Neil Chernoff, Chief Planning and Strategy Officer at British Airways, said the additions reflect strong passenger demand for new short-haul options. “We’re pleased to be expanding our route map with the addition of two new routes for customers to explore. Montenegro is an ideal choice for those seeking stunning coastlines and year-round sunshine, and the addition of Guernsey is something we know our customers have been eagerly awaiting.”
Chernoff added that the Heathrow–Guernsey route will offer smoothly timed onward connections to more than 20 European cities, as well as popular destinations in North America. “It provides greater choice and flexibility for both leisure and business travellers alike,” he said.
Tivat marks one of the Adriatic’s rising stars. Set along Montenegro’s sweeping coastline, the area combines beaches, yacht marinas and mountainous backdrops with access to historic walled towns such as Kotor and Budva. For nature-driven travellers, Montenegro’s national parks, including Durmitor, add another layer of appeal. Tourism continues to surge: MONSTAT reported 2.6 million tourist arrivals in 2024, with more than 96 percent of overnight guests coming from abroad.
British Airways’ summer schedule to Tivat will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Guernsey brings a different kind of island experience: rugged coast paths, hidden coves, maritime history and cultural heritage shaped over centuries. Castle Cornet, which has guarded St Peter Port for more than 800 years, remains one of its most recognisable landmarks. The island’s Renoir Walk, inspired by the painter’s 1883 visit, provides a rare blend of nature and art. With beaches, watersports, cafés and galleries, the island appeals to travellers looking for a slower pace.
The new Guernsey service will operate daily from Heathrow Terminal 5.

Both routes will feature Club Europe, the airline’s short-haul business class product that includes lounge access, enhanced seating, a full meal service and increased baggage allowance.
The update comes as British Airways continues to expand across both its short- and long-haul networks. The airline recently launched a new service to Graz and added Rabat to its schedule, while next summer will see the start of flights to St. Louis.
