Eurowings Launches Direct Flights Between Stuttgart and Amman

Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) has welcomed the inaugural Eurowings flight from Stuttgart, marking the launch of a new direct connection between Germany and Jordan. The arrival was celebrated with a traditional water salute from the airport fire brigade as the Lufthansa Group’s value airline landed in Amman for the first time.

The new service will operate twice weekly, on Mondays and Thursdays, with convenient daytime schedules for both outbound and return flights. The route offers travelers from southern Germany a non-stop gateway to Jordan’s capital, while expanding Eurowings’ growing network of medium-haul destinations across Europe and the Middle East.

“We are very happy about the successful addition of Amman to the Eurowings route network,” said Reinald Frankewitz, Head of Airport & Network Relations at Eurowings. “This expands our range of attractive medium-haul destinations and brings the fascinating travel destination of Jordan a good deal closer, particularly for southern Germany. Amman captivates visitors with its mix of ancient monuments and modern life, and we’re confident this new route will make Jordan a favorite among our passengers.”

Jordan’s appeal as a travel destination continues to rise, offering a diverse blend of historical landmarks and natural wonders – from the ancient city of Petra and the desert landscapes of Wadi Rum, to the Red Sea’s coral reefs and the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth.

Jordan’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Emad Hijazeen, highlighted the importance of the new connection: “Enhancing air connectivity remains at the heart of our tourism growth strategy. Germany is the largest outbound tourism market in the European Union, and this new Eurowings route from Stuttgart to Amman strengthens the bridges between our two countries.”

Dr. Abed Al-Razzaq Arabiyat, Managing Director of the Jordan Tourism Board, added: “Germany continues to be one of Jordan’s most important feeder markets. The launch of this route reinforces our presence in the German market and supports our efforts to make Jordan more accessible to travelers across Europe.”

The new Stuttgart–Amman service represents another step in Jordan’s broader effort to diversify its air connections, supporting cultural exchange, tourism, and business growth between the Middle East and Europe.
