The problem of undelivered baggage on Turkish Airlines flights from Turkey to Russia has not yet been fully resolved, though the situation is gradually stabilizing, according to Dmitry Yadrov, head of Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya), speaking at the Eastern Economic Forum.
He explained that the disruptions are linked to restrictions on airspace use and the need for aircraft to carry larger amounts of fuel, which has limited baggage capacity and led to delays in delivery.
The issue remains under the supervision of Russia’s Ministry of Transport, Rosaviatsiya, and Vnukovo Airport. Consultations are ongoing with Turkish aviation authorities and Turkish Airlines. The Turkish side has assured that measures are being taken to fix the problem.
Deputy Transport Minister Vladimir Poteshkin earlier noted that while disruptions remain, the ministry sees clear signs of improvement.
