Dagestan will welcome the international tourism forum CIS Travel Hub on October 1–3, 2025, bringing together representatives of government, business, professional associations, academia, and media from across the Commonwealth of Independent States and beyond.
The forum, held under the banner of the CIS Year of Mountain Tourism, will focus on pressing issues for the travel industry, from the future of mountain hiking in the region to ecotourism requirements and the personnel needed to support sustainable growth.
Participants will discuss ways to develop the hotel sector, improve service quality, and train specialists for both tourism and creative industries. The agenda also includes balancing human activity with the preservation of wilderness, advancing cross-border ecotourism in the CIS, and strengthening interregional and international cooperation.
Experts are expected to put forward joint projects and practical recommendations aimed at boosting tourism while fostering intercultural and economic ties.
Organized by the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, CIS Travel Hub has already established itself as a key platform for collaboration. The 2024 edition was held in Dushanbe, while earlier forums took place in St. Petersburg. This year marks Dagestan’s turn to showcase its natural and cultural heritage to an international audience.
The CIS Tourism Council has previously recommended that authorities and organizations use CIS Travel Hub as a platform for creating and promoting joint tourism routes and projects across the member states.
