Scandic Hotels is strengthening its footprint in Finland by launching a new Scandic Go hotel in the vibrant city of Turku. This centrally located 138-room hotel will be created by renovating part of the former Scandic Atrium building, complementing the brand’s existing presence in the region and meeting growing demand from both tourists and business travelers.

The renovation work is set to begin in August 2025, with the hotel reopening in the second half of 2026. The new hotel will offer smart, affordable, and sustainable accommodation aligned with the Scandic Go philosophy, catering to a new generation of environmentally conscious guests. The building’s location — close to Turku’s harbor, university district, Market Square, and major transport links — makes it an ideal base for exploring the city’s cultural and business hubs.

With its rich event calendar and summer riverbank life, the city draws a diverse mix of visitors year-round. Following this new addition, Scandic will operate 881 rooms in Turku, further solidifying its position in this dynamic market.

The new Scandic Go hotel will also meet the Nordic Swan Ecolabel standards, underscoring Scandic’s ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability. Scandic is also advancing similar projects in other Finnish cities, including Oulu and Helsinki.
