Jetstar has unveiled an exciting new route, connecting Sydney to Hamilton, New Zealand, much to the delight of Lord of the Rings fans and adventure seekers. Beginning June 16 next year, the airline will launch direct flights between Sydney and Hamilton, with up to four weekly services planned.
Hamilton, located on New Zealand’s North Island, is a gateway to some of the region’s most popular attractions, including the famous Hobbiton Movie Set, the enchanting Waitomo glowworm caves, and the rejuvenating hot springs of Rotorua. Hobbiton, the beloved film set for The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies, remains a key draw for fans worldwide.
This marks Jetstar’s first-ever flights to and from Hamilton, with the route offering more than 75,000 affordable seats each year between Sydney and New Zealand’s North Island. The new service will make it easier for travelers from Australia’s east coast to explore iconic destinations like Rotorua, the Bay of Plenty, and beyond.
In addition to boosting tourism in New Zealand, the new route is expected to benefit Sydney’s economy by bringing thousands of New Zealand tourists to the city, injecting millions of dollars into New South Wales’ tourism industry.
The addition of the Hamilton route reflects Jetstar’s ongoing commitment to expanding affordable travel options, further strengthening connections between Australia and New Zealand.
