In a bizarre incident, a passenger from Sydney to Melbourne took a dramatic exit immediately after the plane landed. The man, apparently in a great hurry, rushed to the emergency exit, opened it, and attempted to leave the aircraft, the Bild reports.
The inflatable evacuation slide was automatically deployed as the emergency exit was opened. However, the man ignored the slide and climbed onto the plane’s wing, before jumping to the ground. Witnesses reported that fellow passengers shouted at him to return to his seat, but he ignored their pleas.
Australian police detained the man on suspicion of aggressive behavior and violating aviation safety protocols. After the incident, the man was examined by medical personnel and taken to a hospital, where he remains under observation. The motives behind his actions are still unclear.
