Istanbul Airport Tops the List of the World’s Most Connected Airports in 2024

Istanbul Airport has been named the world’s most connected airport in 2024, according to aviation analytics firm Cirium. The ranking is based on the number of destinations each airport served from January to June of this year.

Istanbul Airport’s schedule covers an impressive 309 destinations, making it the global leader in connectivity. The majority of these routes are operated by Turkish Airlines, which boasts the most extensive route network in the world.

Frankfurt Airport in Germany takes second place with 296 routes, while Paris Charles de Gaulle in France ranks third with 282 destinations.

The top ten airports also include four from the United States, though no UK airports made it into the top tier. Out of the 20 most connected hubs globally, half are located in Europe, four in China, and two in the Middle East.
